While working in his lab during a storm one night, a bolt of lightning strikes a tray of chemicals soaking police scientist Barry Allen with its contents. Now able to move at super-speed, Barry becomes The Flash protecting Central City from the threats it faces.
The super-fast hero the Flash travels into a timeline where Earth is in turmoil and its heroes are lost and scattered. It's up to him to make things right.


Barry Allen is said to become the Flash in this film. Wally West may become the Flash in a sequel years later if the studio decides to recast him with a younger actor. The producers of the DC movie universe have stated that they want to keep the movie universe separate from the television universe (or Arrowverse as it's commonly called). That way they can have more direct control over characters, story and continuity as well as give it a different feel then the television universe. Therefore the actors and continuity will be different in the television universe then it is in the movie universe.
